The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the official notification for the CSIR UGC NET December 2026 Examination. Eligible candidates can apply online for the Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and Lectureship or Assistant Professor positions through this national-level eligibility test. The online application process started on 07 October 2026 and the last date to submit the form without late fee is 05 November 2026 up to 11:50 PM. Candidates can also submit the form with late fee from 06 to 09 November 2026. The examination will be conducted on 19, 22 and 27 December 2026. The application fee is Rs. 1150 for General category, Rs. 600 for EWS and OBC-NCL, and Rs. 325 for SC, ST and PwD candidates. An additional late fee of Rs. 500 is applicable for delayed submissions. The age limit for JRF is not more than 30 years as on 01 December 2026 while there is no upper age limit for Lectureship or NET. Candidates must possess an M.Sc. degree or equivalent with at least 55 percent marks for General and OBC categories and 50 percent marks for SC and ST categories. Integrated course, B.E., B.Tech., B.Pharma and MBBS candidates are also eligible. Subjects available for the test include Chemical Science, Earth Atmospheric Ocean and Planetary Science, Life Science, Mathematical Science and Physical Science. The selection process is based on performance in the Computer Based Test conducted by NTA.
